About Me
I believe that all work is play, and the creative process of observing, exploring and expressing—deepens my understanding of the world.
Growing up in Baroda, in the midst of humble environments and thriving art community, I developed an early sensitivity to aesthetics and the tactile nature of materials. With a background in visual arts from MSU Fine Arts and a Master’s from NID, my creative practice today spans across sculpture, design and craftsmanship.
I consider myself a material-based artist, working intuitively with brass and steel, as well as clay and wood. My studio, now based in Goa, is a space of a daily engagement, a 'riyaaz' with tools, collected flotsam and natural forms that inspire and inform my making. The vision—translates into sculptures, installations, kinetic sculptures, wearable pieces and contemplative objects.
Much of my work is driven by close observation of the natural world. Often, captivated by the quiet wonders that exist beneath the layers of daily life. Observing the shifting light - patterns of flora and fauna, the unnoticed rhythms of nature. These moments arrives like whispers of insight. And works are in response, an act of translating inner experience into tangible existence - recreating these moments.
